The joint work of Videoton Elektro-PLAST Kft. and the Arrabona Racing Team, the Formula Student team of Széchenyi István University, has reached another important milestone in the electric racing car project.

In the second week of July, we hosted the team to continue the development and the production of the battery system. During the last few months, the first batch produced this spring completed the tests successfully, and now the time has come to manufacture the complete battery pack. 12 segments were made forming the “energy storing heart” of the car.

Each segment consists of 48 interconnected battery cells; the 12 segments together form the high-capacity battery pack which is necessary for the electric drive of the car. The welding expertise and technological know-how of our employees played a key role in the precision manufacturing process.

In June, the racing car was officially presented in Győr, where our colleagues represented the company. We are particularly pleased to see the VIDEOTON Elektro-PLAST Ltd. logo as a diamond grade supporter on the rear wing of the vehicle.

The next step, installing the BMS (Battery Management System) module will be done this week in Győr. This system ensures the safe and efficient operation of the battery pack by monitoring the state of individual cells, optimising charge-discharge and protecting batteries from overloading. Similar systems are found in the most battery packs manufactured by our company.

The jointly developed energy system will make its debut at the Formula Student Race in Croatia in August, where the Arrabona Racing Team will race the car for the first time.

We strongly hope that the combined energy of the team and Videoton will not only push the car forward on the track, but also take the young engineers to the top of the podium!
